I think it depends on the person. I don't really watch cartoon network, but I think Spongebob is the shi!t.

When you reach your twenties, it comes to a time when you're pretty much forced to get into the "real world" -- move out if you haven't already, get a job, maybe start a family...there's nothing wrong with having a time when you act like a kid for a little bit. It's a natural thing to want and a natural thing to do -- they're not hurting anyone, so why should it matter?

Chances are, they watch other things, as well. Even if they don't -- maybe it's just what they enjoy.

I'd say expand your horizons. What do you want to spend your time doing? Do you want to see an opera once in a while or watch an independant film? Maybe you want a hobby that is a worth while investment of your time? Attend some things you want to attend. You'll meet some people with common interests.

We all have free will. It is up to us to decide how to spend our time. If you look around you'll see people much older than you watch soap operas or game shows. And actually, many gen-x people like to watch cartoons too.

I'm 39. I used to think that when I turned 30 suddenly I would like elevator music, jazz and be cultured. I'm here to tell you that to this day I can't stand elevator music or jazz and probably never will. But I secretly wanted to be more cultured. So I made the effort to read classic novels and see some of the best rated movies of all time and made the effort to learn about classical music.

Cartoons are still fun once in a while. I catch the Daily Show maybe once a week. But there are so many more worth while things I can put my time into than silly programs every hour of my free time. I only have so much time and I want to spend it well.

Good luck.

when i was in my early twenties i mostly went to bars with friends. It was the only thing to do during the winter. In the summer, same thing but i had a friend we used to to outdoor stuff together like roller blading or cayaking or white water rafting. Stuff like that. I also did some traveling. I then went back to universitiy when i was 24 and then i became really serious and really didnt do much until the last year. I started going dancing again .

I watch House, King of the Hill, and Good Eats.

Plus other random shows.

I don't think there's anything wrong with an adult watching cartoons.

I think people are lower the standards to what's acceptable for their particular age. I think watching nick cartoons in your early 20's is kinda childish as with most of the programming on cartoon network except for adult swim. But more and more people are not growing up and acting their ages and the whole belief age is just a number and do what makes you happy are the most common excuses. It's not just people in their early 20's it's people in their 30's who are into hardcore gaming and cartoons.

This is a common problem in the states and japan and time magazine had an article on it a few years back. The best point made is people can easily revisit their childhood with sites like ebay, youtube, play old video games, so they can be stuck in their past instead of moving forward and becoming an adult.
